Primary Responsibilities:
- Tear down valves, pipe fittings, flanges, bushings, bonnets, frac stacks, gate manifolds, flow iron pipe, pipe connectors
- Rebuild valves, plug catchers, sand knockouts, and manifolds
- Identify proper stud, nut, ring gasket sizes for flange end connections
- Troubleshoot valves and chokes, identify problems, and repair defects
- Read and understand drawings/plans and technical manuals which guide disassembly/reassembly and testing work
- Select proper repair techniques
- Inspect valves and flanges for leaks, flaws, and defects using high pressure testing equipment
- Perform Field Work as needed
- Perform field repairs (stem packing, changing chokes)
- Reassemble valves and specialized components at field job locations
- Rig up and assist with field operations
- As the Lead-Hand, load and unload 18-wheeler truck trailers, flatbed trucks, and hot shot delivery trucks with valves, manifolds, and machinery/equipment
Education, Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3 years related experience and training
Certifications:
- None
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of valve repair techniques
- Extensive knowledge of the use of using precision measuring and torqueing devices
- Extensive knowledge of valve packing procedures and methods
- Extensive knowledge of the suitability of various threads, flanges, and equipment working pressures; ability to identify types/sizes of threads and flanges
- Familiarity with Rental Tool Management Systems (such as RTMS) is highly desirable
- Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend English
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to do basic operations of math including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
